Easy Like Sunday Morning

It is very hot today, we absorbed some rays this morning but the heat has wiped us out now - and we are just lazing around in the hallway, the coolest room in our home.

The hot weather makes it difficult for Meowmie to determine whether I am being lethargic because of my condition, or whether I am being lethargic cos of the heat. So she has to judge my behaviour by Castle's - and he has been lethargic, but not quite like I have, so I think my condition is contributing too. I guess that isn't too surprising.

After my chemo on Wednesday, I was very bright, and my appetite was really good, especially when Meowmie J came over for dinner on Thursday and fed me chicken off her plate!!! I have been eating normally, only slowing down really on Saturday, since when Meowmie has helped me with the occasional appetite stimulant - but I have still been eating. Meowmie has not had to tempt me with 4 or 5 different kinds of food, I have happily eaten the first or if I REALLY didn't fancy the first food, the second type presented to me.

This week has definitely been better than last week in terms of appetite and response to the chemo - perhaps this is because this week's chemo was just a single drug, whereas last week's was two types of drug administered together.... I have grown quiet again over the past couple of days though, and I have only passed one tiny poo. Perhaps this is contributing to my lethargy and quietness, as well as the heat and of course, the lymphoma thing. Like Meowmie says though, if I am eating then I must be feeling fairly OK...it would just be nice to have a little more energy.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

It's great to hear that you are eating. The weather here has been damp and rainy, we forgot what the sun is like!
Smooches to you and to Castle!
I keep you in my special prayers.

Hi Furry Fighter. Thanks for keeping Sissy in your thoughts and prayers. We can relate a great deal to what you are going through since the doctor believes Sissy's tumor is also caused from lymphoma cancer. As for the tumor itself, the size of the tumor and it's location make it impossible to remove/treat. The doctor informed us that if we even tried, Sissy has very little probability of surviving the surgery. She is just too old and the cancer is just to big. For us, it's really just a matter of how much time do we have left with her. Because the tumor is so large, it is pressing up agaisnt many of her internal organs. If the bloodwork comes back tomorrow showing that she is in the end stages of kidney failure, then we will have to help her to the bridge this week. If her kidneys are still functioning ok, then I will try force feeding her and start sub q fluids to see if we can extend her amount of time with us. My boyfriend and I have talked about it, and we both feel the most important thing at this point, is to make sure she is as comfortable as possible and not in any pain.

I will be updating our blog tomorrow after the results from the bloodwork come in. If the bloodwork looks good, then we may have a few questions for you on what you have found to work for Storm, that is if you don't mind sharing...

Sorry this comment is kind of long, but we wanted to say thank you for expressing your concern and lending an ear. It is nice having someone else to talk to who is going through the same thing.

Hi Stormie, phew! it sure is hot here, but I think it's going to be cooler during the week.

I'm so glad you are eating and not feeling so overwhelmed by the chemo drugs. My cats are all flat as pancakes in the heat, so it's no surprise you are feeling lethargic.

You take it easy, love to you all xx

Storm,

I can't imagine that you would have energy with all the chemo trying to kill of your cancer cells. I hope you are enjoying your restfulness without too many side effects. It's good that you are eating well. Your body needs it.

Purrs.
