An Explanation (and an Award!)

Firstly, I would like to spend a little time explaning why I am frequently sick - and I would also like to put any minds at rest and explain that I am not vomitting through being 'ill' or 'sick'.

My Bean always gets concerned that when she is asked how I am doing and she replies "Storm is doing really well, she is only sick every third day or so, apart from that you would have no idea she is a lymphoma kitty". My Bean worries that people think she is being cruel, cos I am sick every few days they immediately assume I am 'ill' and not feeling very well all the time and should be sent to the Rainbow Bridge forthwith. Which is not the case at all!!!

As many of you know, my vomitting is caused by my constipation, which in turn is caused by the damage done to my tummy from the chemo. Inside my tummy there is now scar tissue and a very uneven surface from where the chemo drugs had a fight with my tummy lymphoma. This obviously hinders the passage of foods through me, slowing it down a little and also my poos are drier since the chemo too. I then get constipated.

Constipation can make a cat do a sick-up. It is not a gradual feeling of nausea, it is more like an involuntary nerve reaction - like when you Beans tap your knee and your leg shoots up in the air. When I am in my tray straining, my Vomit Nerve (or whatever it is) gets switched on and then I am sick 10 minutes later. I then almost immediately head off to my food bowl to have some food! A sick kitty would not do that! I am, in every other respect, a normal kitty living a happy, pain-free life at the moment.

Now on to my Award! Jan over at Jan's Funny Farm has given me this very special award for my Blog - The Great Blog Award! I also got awarded this award from my lovely friends The Furry Kids! How honoured am I? Very!

I am going to pass this on to my friend Miss Peach and to all the wonderful reporters over at Simply Siamese!

My Meowmie has been looking for nice places for a short break sometime, and she has found a place in Cornwall (South Weest England) called....MOUSEHOLE! This MUST mean that we will be going with her! I can't imagine that she would even consider not taking us to such an idyllic sounding holiday destination! Can you? Doesn't it look lovely? I wonder if many mouses live in those houses...?

Thanks for the award!! I wasn't ever worried about your sick-ups, I think you sound like you handle all of it so well. Aside from the Most Beautiful Siamese Cat in the World things. Chase had one once and he says you're SUPER good to let them do that to you.

That place looks lovely!!!
Congratulations on your award!
And we do not understand why humans would think of putting sick animals down - they do not put sick humans down, or do they? They care for them, right?
We don't have lymphoma and still throw up every few days, hahahahahahahaha! We just like to do it.

Congratulations on your award, Storm! It is very well deserved. :) We weren't too worried about your sick-ups. Dragonheart frequently brings up food, but it's because he eats too quickly. As our vet explained, when we cats eat dry food too quickly, too much enters our stomach, where it absorbs water, and the food expands. Sometimes it expands so much that there's no room for it in our bellies, and so we bring it back up.

Storm I understood that your sickness was part of your condition. That is, it's a way to eat more food so good on you! He he.

Also, i chose pic number 5 - I have since linked to it on today's post.

Oh, if the human is looking for holiday destinations, there is nothing more beautiful than the Isle of Wight in the summer. In fact, why doesn't she come to the IOW for the festival? I hear my human is going to abandon me that weekend so i could do with some company. x

Congrats on your award Storm! We figured you person knew what was normal for you and that you would be fine. The Siamese who came before vomited a lot and very easily too--often for her it was just that she ate too fast and then got sick. So we know your person knows what she is doing with you and your constipation/vomiting thing!

ConCATulashuns on yur awardie, Stormie! It is so well-deserved -- you are a super terrific Meezer Gurl -- you are both great and inspiring!

That's interesting about yur sickies -- I'm sorry you have the konstipashun but you sound like a furry happy gurl with a good appetite. Brainball has konstipashun issues, too, and it's cuz he's so floofiferous. Momma gives him malt and she also feeds him baby food squash every few days, too. Seems to help him out.

And hehe, MOUSEHOLE!!!!! That sounds like a PURRfeckt vakashun spot -- I'd love to go to someplace kalled Mousehole and then catch alla the little mousies!

Thanks fur your sweet Gotcha Day wishes -- I am so glad to have you as my furriend!

We know your mum loves you very much, and all cats get sick for one reason or another. We can't believe that some poople thought you should be helped to the bridge - you are an exceptional cat - especially because you have far surpassed the vets predictions.

Mousehole sounds like a wonderful place to have a vacation.

Oh yes we understand all too well that kitties like yourself who're living happily day to day with either a managed condition like our housemate Tigmut'hep, or yourself with the results of a far more serious disease get pooky every few days. Iffen we're lucky Tigs can manage weeks between pooky bouts, but then he'll have a bad week... It doesn't help that he suffers with furballs from over grooming himself too! ;)

Congrats on your award and I must say I'm rather interested in finding out more about Mousehole! I reckon that's were all my feather butt mices have gone! ;)
