The Return of Thomasina!

Some of you may remember the little tabby cat that adopted Meowmie J a few months ago, we thought she was a fat kitten, but it turned out she was a very pregnant, very tiny cat. Thomasina eventually ended up giving birth to her kittens under a bush in Meowmie's front garden. We later found out that Thomasina (real name China) shared her home with two HUGE dogs, no wonder she preferred giving birth in a rose bush!!!

Well, guess who has made a return to Meowmie J's house? Yes, our little friend Thomasina! At first the Meowmie's didn't recognise her as she was soooooo tiny and skinny - she looked like Thomasina but was just too small surely? But, no, it is definitely Thomasina, she is just not pregnant and of course she has had 4 kittens suckling off her for a while so she is bound to be thin and small!

Meowmie L thinks the owners have not been responsible and not bothered having her 'done' cos when they first saw her a couple of days ago, Thomasina was rolling around on the floor, and strutting about with her bum in the air...about 2 feet away from a big black Tom cat who obviously had only one thing on his mind! Meowmie L picked up Thomasina, who then growled and hissed (so she obviously only had one thing on her mind too! The hussy!), and carried her away to the safety of Meowmie J's garden, where she started purring and parading again.

Thomasina now seems to have taken up residence in Meowmie J's porch, which is strange because her real home is only 100 yards away! Maybe she is pregnanat again and looking for a safe haven...here is Thomasina, isn't she a beauty?:

As for me...well, no change really. I am eating (not enough though) and drinking of my own free will - Meowmie stopped giving me the appetite stimulant 'Mirtazapine' cos it wasn't working (I ate next to nothing on Saturday or Sunday), and I was being sick and retching whilst taking it, I am not being sick anymore. I actually ate a little less this morning than I have been, but at least I am still trying. I am purry and prummmpy when stroked and spoken to, and give my Meowmie a headbump when she says "Kisses" to me in a high-pitched voice. I am happy to sit peacefully on my various beds and watch the world go on around me. I like to have company and will sit with the Meowmies or Castle - I am not isolating myself or anything like that - and show no signs of pain...but I am quiet in general, very skinny, and I am not at all lively. Meowmie spoke to Ben Vet yesterday and he said that if I am eating and drinking, and showing no signs of pain and seem happy to be around us then "today is not the day".

EDIT: wow, I have just been over to Simply Siamese and they have dedicated their Blog For Peace 'Peace Globe' to little old ME!!! I am so touched by this...and my Meowmie got teary (in a good way). Thank you to my dear friends at Simply Siamese *purrs and headbutts*

Hi Stormie, it's lovely to see little Thomasina again. She's very pretty, no wonder all the man cats make a beeline for her. Meowmie J is a good person to take her away from her uncaring other home. I hope something permanent can be worked out there.

I'm glad you are eating a little and most importantly, relaxed and enjoying your Meowmies and dear Castle. To read that you are comfortable is encouraging. You take it easy, sending love to you all xx

Stormie that Thomasina sure is a cutie!! She knows the smell of a good mum, and I think she wants to stay. Old Puss slept for six months on our front porch in an old box - she loved it.

You keep having sips, snuggles and smooches sweet friend.

Throwing our arms and paws around you.

Oh cripe! Poor Thomasina! I worried that her humans would not do right by her. What an awful way to be a kitty...I wonder what will become of her.
Stormie, we keep you close to our hearts - we send our love and friendship across the pond. Keep enjoying all of the love that surrounds you!
Peace and smoochies to you and to Castle.

Oh Stormie you keep eating and drinking sweety, even if you have to eat my chicken I don't care! I just want to see you getting healthy again! :) As for your little friend Thomasina, it sounds very much like she was "calling" the other day and if that was a Tom she was calling to she could well already be pregnant again! :( This is not at all good as she only had those other kittens just before Isis had hers and that's only 12.5 weeks ago! If she's pregnant again that soon it's going to make her sick, the kittens will be taking calcium from her body and if she's not getting enough in her diet that means it's coming from her bones... This means she could have osteoporosis as an older lady cat and that's not good! Oh I do so hope she's not pregnant and that she gets fixed before she can get pregnant again if she's allowed to wander. We'd only let Isis have a litter once every 9-12 months at most so she has a happy healthy life without the chances of causing long term problems and we make sure she gets all the calcium she needs during pregnancy and nursing the kittens!

We'll purr for you Stormie and keep our paws crossed for Thomasina too!

Purrs,
Ramses

PS: It's hard to type with your paws crossed! ;)

Oh, Storm, you get such good care and poor Thomasina doesn't. Thomasina needs a mom just like yours. We don't suppose yours would volunteer?

We're glad you are eating and drinking a little something and not showing signs of pain or isolating yourself. We continue to send purrs and tail wags.

Stormie, please eat and drink more. We are very glad you are comfortable, but we really want you to take in some more nourishment.

Thomasina sure is a cutie. We are so sorry her beans don't take care of her and we are glad that Meowmie J is watching over her.

I was thinking that your mom might want to adopt Thomasina and a few kittens. It is so much fun to have an entire family, they share such a great bond.
And wasn't it wonderful of Simply Siamese to dedicate their peace globe to you, Storm. What a wonderful loving thing for them to do.
I hope you are feeling better and am very glad "it's not the day". Hope that is true for a long time more and you are not in any pain at all.
You are in my purrs and purrayers daily, dear Storm.
Love,

This may be a naughty suggestion but could someone like the Blue Cross abduct Thomasina temporarily (the owners probably wouldnt know), do 'the procedure' and then at least she wouldnt end up pregnant all the time ? I know a rescue place near here that does that. Stormie, I am encouraged to read that you are holding your own. I am with you in spirit, hugging you, purring for you and sending you kisses.

Oh sweet Stormie, there is much you can do to help pretty little Thomasina so don't worry yourself and do keep eating your ham and chicken like a good girl! :)

When Mummy gets me ready for having a new boyfriend and some pretty little kittens, she makes sure she stocks up on kitten food as it has extra calories as well as it containing the calcium that adult cat food doesn't. As soon as I come home I go on my baby food diet (while trying to keep my greedy brothers face out of my bowl for a change!) If I have a few "off" days Mummy adds Nurish-UM cat paste to my food too, or lets me lick it's malty goodness off her fingers! (This is something you might like too Stormie dear!) :) All this and a little cat milk helps build me up for the babies, though you can get additional calcium supplements from the Vets and it might be worth asking your lovely vet about them when you next see him, the above will make a big difference to a little cat! :) She should keep having the kitten food and the like when she visits until you're sure the kittens have stopped nursing. It might also be worth asking your vet about the kitty pill as this will stop her going into heat and calling for a male, though it's not the best option it's still a LOT better than her having litter after litter until she's a very sick girl. Your vet might also be able to check around and see which vets she's registered with and see if he/she can offer any advise to the owners. If not it's probably worth informing the RSPCA or similar and seeing what they can do about the situation. Maybe they can have her spayed?! I shall purr for her getting away from poorly informed or educated owners as well as for your improving appetite and health! If your Mum wants to contact mine she'll do what she can to help - (contact details on my breeder site).

Isis

Poor Thomasina/China...mom put letters in all da mail boxes in our nayborhood when we moved here 12 years ago dat any cat dat wandered into her yard would be trapped and if wearing ID would be returned if not wearing ID would be taken to da vet and if not fixed would be neutered and when healed released back into our yard. She ended up spaying 3 females and neutered 1 male. All the others that got cawt were already fixed and had tags. Now all da naybors know not to let der kitties wander around. It's good! We'z glad to hear yoo is not in pain and are eating a little bit on your own. Keep fighting Storm and we'll keep Purraying!
