This is Peggy, she died yesterday after being mauled by a dog. This made my Meowmie very very sad cos Peggy was a special cat, so Meowmie has asked me to tell you about my neighbour Peggy...
Peggy lived with her bean called Angus. Angus is a very 'local' character, he is a modern-day rag-and-bone man, he wanders the City Of London collecting mostly metal scrap and selling it on to make a living. Angus is mostly sober but occassionally he likes to have a drink, and he can get merry at times but he is not a nasty drunk or vicious in anyway, just a jolly chap, living his life and making money in the way he knows best. He lives in the flat at the bottom of Meowmie's block, he has a lovely garden at the front and back of his home which he tends to and fills with lovely plants he finds discarded at the famous weekly flower market in Columbia Road.
Angus LOVES cats, he adores them, but he used to be quite irresponsible. He had three female cats (all ex-feral) who had not had their lulus done so they kept having kittens, litter after litter after litter, Meowmie and other people used to help him find homes for the kittens and they kept telling Angus to get the girl's lulus done. Peggy came from one of these litters. Not sure how it happened, but Peggy ended up with three legs - hence the name Peg-Leg aka Peggy. Angus told Meowmie that Peggy's own mum chewed one of her back legs off when she was born! YIKES!!! Angus could not bear to part with Peggy so he kept her but found homes for the rest of the litter.
Shortly after Peggy was born Angus received some advice from the RSPCA about responsible pet ownership and they arranged for all his cats to have their lulus done so they wouldn't have anymore kittens! Angus loved Peggy very much, she was his favourite cat out of the four. He brushed her every morning and talked to her and loved her. Peggy was also the most outgoing of his four near-feral cats and the only one who would approach Beans, albeit very timidly, for a headbutt or two.
Peggy could always be found in Angus's front garden, somehow balancing on the fence with her three legs, looking pretty - or sitting in the flower beds opposite Angus's flat, watching the birds. She never wandered far and was always within a wobbly lop-sided scamper of her garden and front door. It seems though, that yesterday she didn't make it back to her garden of safety but instead went to the Rainbow Bridge...Ise never got to meet Peggy but my Meowmie said she was adorable. Bye bye Peggy xxx

Poor Peggy! We are very sorry. Purrrrs.
That is very sad, she was a very beautiful cat who obviously overcame quite a bit in her life. We will purr for her.

Oh my goodness, poor Peggy. How awful what happened to her, and what a bee-yootiful kittygirl she was. Thankies fur sharin' her with us. We will remember her and she will live in all of our thoughts and our hearts.
I hope you're doin' good, Stormie, and eatin' good and not havin' sickuppies!
Thankies so much fur your purrs for my sistur Brainball -- she is doin' a lot bettur today, eatin' bettur and Brainballin' around and doin' her Alpha Cat patrols (YAY!); she's also gettin' in more naps, though, which is good. Momma thinks she still needs some more good bathroom trips before she feels 100%. But she's much bettur and Momma will keep an eye on her to make sure she keeps gettin' bettur or else she still might have to go to the v.e.t.
Kittyhugs and purrs to you, my furriend!
Oh, I am very sad to learn this about the beautiful Peggy. Thank you for showing us her picture - she sure has expressive eyes. It sounds like she had kind of a rough life. Rest in peace, sweet Peggy.
Storm, I do not think there are very many cats who go strollering, except maybe in the cat blogosphere. But of course, the cats we know from the cat blogosphere are special! When we go out for walks, most people assume there is a baby in there! You can get strollers in most pet stores though; I think it is more common for dogs to go strollering.
Oh, poor Peggy. This makes us very, very sad. Thank you for sharing her story with us. Rest in peace, sweetheart.
Love,
Tazo
Titus likes to throw up on the carpet, too. One time Momma didn't get him outside in time and he started to throw up. She tried to put a sheet under his mouth to catch it, but he just turned his head and did the deed on the carpet. Hee hee!
Glad to hear that you have a good appetite. I hope that they can find something that stays down very soon.
Dear Storm, this is a very sad sad sad sad tale. We feel so terrible that Peggy died.
We hope that bad doggie was punished for killing her. Here in the US a dog would be punished and the owner too.
we should now just think about how Peggy is happy now. She is frolicking at Rainbow Bridge.
neighbors are funny. we have a few interesting ones as well.
Purrrrs, Princess
~~we missed yesterday's bloggie...
sorry.
Well, your mommie had quite a time there at the foot-ball. Yes, our football is very boring. We like soccer too.
Anyway, we are happy to hear that you are eating.
I also sometimes throw up and then go fill up again :-D

We are very sorry for Peggy and for Angus. That is a horrible thing to have happen to her and I can only imagine the sorrow he must feel if she was a favorite.
What a sad story! I was thinking how Peggy is such a nice name for a kitty and I was not expecting to hear this. Too bad we didn't get to know her better.
Oh that is so very very sad. We are certainly glad that the RSPCA stepped in to help Angus get all those cats fixed and get them all adopted into safe, responsible homes. We're sorry that Angus lost his companion. Inside is always the best for us. This is often found out the hard way, isn't it?

Pee Ess. Paw isn't much into Halloween, probably 'cause he's from the YooKay too. But he'll eat the leftover candy!
Oh that's awful. We'll purr for Chloe to welcome Peggy at the Bridge. And we'll purr lots for Angus and yall to be comforted in yore sadness.
Purrrrrrrrrs,
Sanjee, Boni Maroni, Mini, Gree and Pepi
What a terribly sad story. Makes Mom's eyes water. The cat Mom grew up with, Simba, was mauled by a dog that got in her mom's backyard years after she left home. It still makes her sad.

She is so pretty. Poor Peggy. We are crying again. Life is so hard sometimes. Poor Angus must miss her very much if she was his favorite girl, we send lots of purrs, to Peggy at the bridge and Angus, left behind.

I am so so sad about Peggy, she is a very very beautiful cat, once I got a sister named Peggy, too. So, this article just let me wooden, I am praying she will be ok at the ramble bridge and also pray the Peggy I know is fine.
That is very sad news, and with pleasure to know her at least.
Poor Peggy. :( It sounds like she was a very special cat, and she was very beautiful. Stories like this make me very happy I am an indoor-only cat and don't have to worry about mean woofies. I hope Peggy is running and enjoying herself at the Rainbow Bridge.
Oh, that is horrible! Unbearable! I'm so sorry!
I am so sorry for Peggy and Angus. What a horrible thing to happen! She was such a pretty cat with expressive eyes.
I'm so sorry about Peggy. She was obviously a very special cat.I hope they arrest the doggy that mauled her and send him to jail.
Because of problems with our sysytem I might not be able to comment as much as I'd like to. I'm so glad that your vet appointment went well. We're purring for you. Castle must have been a riot. I've acted up a bit myself, but not to that extent!!!
That tapioca and catfish food sounds revolting. And I love my fish.
Purrs, Muffy
Oh, Storm, that is dreadfully sad...I am so sorry to hear about Peggy. I wish you could press charges against the owner of the dog. I really really do.
x
Oh my. When Mom read this to us she said "See, this is exactly why you're not allowed out!". There are all kinds of bad things outside.
Your friend
Misty
We just read about Peggy & Angus. We hope Angus is OK.
It sounds like they loved and needed each other. It must have been devastating to lose Peggy that suddenly.
We are so sorry to read this about Peggy. She was so beautiful, and had such pretty whiskers.
Mom won't let us go outside, but sometimes Bandit is faster than light and will get out, but he stops to eat grass and has to come back in.
Sending lots of Purrrs to Angus.
~ Gracie
